Hello candle lovers! My name is Meghna and I am the artist behind La Pearl Candles and this is a brief story of how my love for candle making started and how La Pearl Candles came to be!
I am a Postgraduate in Computer science and have done specialization in Networking from New Zealand. Have done several jobs in MNC’s across India, New Zealand and Australia. But I chose my passion over my education. I live with my family. I have a beautiful dog. When I'm not making candles, l take care of my parents, play with my dog, binge watch on Netflix and read some books (I'm a big fan of fantasy and sci-fi and also self-help books).
My life past 4 years have been a roller coaster ride as I lost my two children in Australia, and it was a difficult time for me, so I shifted back to my home country. And one day I was lying on bed crying and scrolling through Instagram feeds and post, when I saw some beautiful, handcrafted candles made by different artist and that was the time my life got illuminated⭐️ by the light I never imagined i would follow.
I started watching videos of candles, and pieces of candles made by other artists. I had no idea how to make candles but with proper research, I started buying some candle supplies and just tried my hands on it. I knew I have always been a creative person, but never knew that being a Computer Science Engineer and having a job in a corporate world, I would completely switch from doing a job to having my own creativity explored.
So, I brought few candle supplies and started trying it out by myself and I just loved the process and the beautiful candles which comes out after so much of hard-work and trial and errors i have to go through. Making candles is bringing me joy and peace in my life.
La Pearl Candles has also become a way to express love not only for candles but for our community and the planet. All our candles are hand-poured using 100% natural eco soy wax and premium fragrance oils with sustainability in mind. No paraffin, no additives and no cruelty. Each candle is individually handmade with great attention and care.
I'm incredibly grateful and privileged to have this opportunity to connect with others through my work and to meet similar artists in the community. I hope to start doing exhibitions soon and adding more products to my creativity like Soaps, Moulds and Resin.
